Well, Christmas and New Year are over and we’re into what my numerological friend calls Year 1 of the new cycle of years. Apparently that means we can start afresh with our thoughts, our dreams, our aims.
I’ve been training now for the Danceathon for 3 months and I’ll admit it’s been hard at times – especially when I’m keeping my steps up through gale force winds and torrential rain. It’s also been incredibly boring at times exercising at home on my own. Lots of fun when I’m with others. And isn’t that true of our lives generally? We need company and support when times are difficult. That’s what the charity WayfinderWoman is all about – providing company and support to women when they are in a difficult part of their lives. My trainer is putting together an increasing demand on me to build up the endurance required for the 24 hour Danceathon. The fundraising I hope will start taking off once we’re more into 2026 and people have paid off their Xmas spending credit cards. (Quick plug for my Just Giving page here!) We’ve got an amazing person, Brian Drinkwater who’s a media expert, putting together the 24 hr streaming of the event and instructors/dance schools are gradually filling up the slots. It’s becoming very real!!! I admit to some trepidation. Will I be able to do it? Will I have people keeping me company during the hours? Will I stay healthy enough to do it??? I’ll keep training, eating well, staying well away from bugs and germs and put it out to the universe that it’ll be an even bigger, greater event than even I could imagine!
