When the greatest resource in an organisation is its workforce, it makes sense to know how to get the best out of them and improve your bottom line. Would you find it useful to know what really motivates your management team? If you were shown how matching roles and personalities improved productivity would you want to know more? Do you want to do better business? When you say yes, contact mtc² ltd.
This is one of our favourite stories.
The organisation was confident it had found the solution to its under-performance and lack of staff commitment. The staff survey had given them the answer - improve their poor communications systems.
The consultant spent a few days with them, talking with staff, observing groups, looking at their communication methodologies. She asked questions and then reported back to the Directors.
"Your communication methods are fine," she said. "Your staff know exactly what the organisation's aims are and what needs to be done to hit the next set of targets. They're actually quiet committed to you."
"But that's not right," a Director argued, "The staff survey told us otherwise."
"That's because you didn't ask the right questions," she replied. "You've gone through a lot over the past year and they've stopped listening because you're not giving them the messages they need to hear. That's what they're complaining about, not your systems.
What's your strategy? They don't know how to get engaged and help you drive it along instead of holding you back. They want you to succeed. They want to succeed. Sort out your strategy, make it clear, let them help you and the rest will follow."
"Human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their businesses."
